Who We Are
A SHARED LOVE OF NATURE, LEARNING & STORYTELLING
We are Kelly and John Wilson — educators, published children’s book authors, and professional wildlife photographers. Through Benevolent Mission LLC, we bring together early childhood development, real-world field observation, and storytelling to create meaningful, faith-inspired nature study programs and books for families and educators.
Through decades of fieldwork, quiet observation, and countless hours spent photographing wildlife, we have come to see nature not only as beautiful, but as a reflection of God’s creation — filled with order, purpose, and detail that
invites both curiosity and reverence.
Why We Create
WE BELIEVE CHILDHOOD STILL NEEDS ROOM FOR WONDER
Childhood is filled with opportunities to wonder — to notice the flash of a bird’s wings, follow a tiny trail of footprints, ask why, and discover something for the very first time. In a world that often moves quickly, we believe there is something deeply valuable about giving children the time and space to slow down, look closely, and simply be curious.

That belief is at the heart of Benevolent Mission and the foundation of Benevolent Discovery™. Through thoughtful nature study, real wildlife encounters, creativity, movement, and reflection, we encourage children to experience the natural world rather than simply learn about it.

Because some of the most meaningful lessons begin when a child pauses long enough to notice what was there all along — creating moments of discovery, connection, and wonder that families can share together.

Behind every photograph is a real encounter — a quiet morning in the wetlands, a patient wait along the shoreline, or an unexpected moment when wildlife allowed us a glimpse into its world.

Through years spent photographing birds and wildlife in their natural habitats, we’ve had the privilege of witnessing behaviors, details, and moments of beauty that many children may never have the opportunity to see firsthand. Benevolent Mission is our way of
bringing those experiences home to them.

Through our original wildlife photography, thoughtful storytelling, and engaging learning experiences, we invite children to look closer, ask questions, and discover the
remarkable world just beyond their door.
